I haven’t had time to create the hourly standings page for 1966 but John Alderson is doing some Morgan racing research and asked for the time sheet for the #43 Morgan of Hall and Costner so here it is.

Car #43, 1961 Morgan Super Sport, Entrant Fergus Motors

Drivers: Ben Hall, Al Costner and Ted Rand (Rand didn’t drive in the race)

Qualified 62nd at 4:18.6.
DNF, disqualified after completing 35 Laps. The Sebring book doesn’t list the reason for disqualification. Janos Wimpffen’s marvelous “Time and Two Seats” says it was “too slow”. The Morgan was consistently some 10 seconds a lap slower than the eventual class-winning TR4As. Disqualification for that margin seems rather draconian, particularly considering that the Renault Alpines were no faster, but the Fords and Ferraris were hurtling around a minute a lap faster … turning four laps for every three by the Morgan.
